About Me

I, Dr. Preeti Shukla (Registered Dietitian, national topper 2014) have more than 14 years of experience in clinical dietetics with renowned hospitals in Indore. I believe in the broader concept of health that considers holistic wellbeing. It brings me immense pleasure to see the thrill coming back to my patients life as they rebuild trust in both food and their body. I have been a university topper for M.Sc from DAVV. I have worked as a chief dietician in the field of bariatrics (obesity surgery) with an expertise in counselling more than 6000 patients. Along with being a pioneer in bariatrics, I also specialise in diets for patients having metabolic disorders like- Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, PCOS, Cardiovascular ailments etc. I am Master Trainer for registered dietitians. I am the President of Indian Dietetics Association, MP chapter.     Balanced Diets

    Indian food has changed a lot in the last few years as the multinational companies have flooded the market with junk and fast foods. And the concept of balanced meal is lost. The meal should be balanced as it should have recommended allowances of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals providing the individual with optimum health and nutrition. Nowadays is lack of knowledge for a balanced meal. Either the diet is loaded with fats and carbs like in pizzas and burgers, or indorians favorite kachori and samosas. Or it is loaded with sugars like icecreams and sweets. To have a balance we should not go for these junk foods on daily basis.  According to me ideal diet should give enough strength and satiety as well in addittion to proper nutrients as mentioned earlier like protein, fats and carbohydrate. Anything in moderation is always good. If you tend to succumb to delecacies more often then to strike a balance between your food you should also be doing good workout( exercises).  A person younger at age has increased requirements for all the nutrients because he is growing whereas as we age the requirements and choices should be altered. Facing any issues relating health the concern is even more to take a balanced meal. As we age the digestion process also slows down, choosing a meal plan which suits your requirement is very necessary.  Obesity is at alarming stage between the young and the adults as well. In my opinion do not fall prey to unethical weight loss diets which can result in lots of metabolic damages to your body leaving it with numerous ailments. Weight loss should be done in no hurry. Do not set unrealistic goals, plan in a way so you have a healthy diet and that inturn gives you fitness and weightloss as well.
