    Tip for hypertensive:   It is the most common problem people in India are facing these days. The diet for hypertension includes major modification in the salt and sodium content. Do not use: 1.Salt at the table (use salt lightly in cooking). 2.Salt preserved foods such as salted or smoked meat, sausages, etc.. 3.Highly salted foods such as crackers, potato chips, salted nuts, etc.. 4....Foods with sodium as preservative such as ketchup, chili sauce, pickles and chutney. 5.Processed cheese and butter. A variety of condiments (like cumin seeds) and flavoring agents such as lemon, vinegar, tamarind extract, onion, garlic can be used.
